I have made the decision to switch from the monthly subscription service based Patreon to the "donate if you want to when you can" model of Ko-fi! This is in part because it was really hard to keep up with the monthly subscription benefits, even as meager as I was offering, and the stress of doing so was part of what lead to me needing a long Mental Health Hiatus. It's also in part because honestly, I don't really need an income to do what I do because Xan has a thankfully solid and stable job that covers everything we need with a little bit extra for what we want as well, so having a monthly subscription goal just feels weird... but I do like getting paid for what I do and have some one time purchase goals I'd love to fund entirely by myself for a change. And lastly, it just fits better to have a "donate if you want to when you can" model when a lot of people aren't lucky enough to still have a job through this pandemic we're still in and might need that extra $3 for ramen this month.
